Hyundai has started making its popular SUV, Creta, in Nepal. The car is being assembled at a plant set up by Laxmi Intercontinental, the official distributor of Hyundai in Nepal.
According to Hyundai’s Sales Head, Diwakar Regmi, Creta is now being assembled in Nepal after the Venue model. The locally assembled Creta will be 9 lakh rupees cheaper than the previous imported version.
Laxmi Group, a major business house in Nepal, has built the assembly plant in Nawalparasi to manufacture Hyundai vehicles. The plant first started assembling the Venue model.
The assembly plant is spread over 10 bighas of land and has a production capacity of 1.5 units per hour, meaning it can produce one and a half cars per hour.
After Venue, Laxmi Group had announced plans to assemble Grand i10 and Creta EV (Electric Vehicle). Following this plan, Creta production began in March 2025.
Today, Hyundai is also launched the Creta EV model in the Nepali market.
