Hyundai has started assembling its popular SUV, Creta, in Nepal. The car is being built at an assembly plant set up by Laxmi Intercontinental, the official distributor of Hyundai in Nepal. The locally assembled Creta will be 9 lakh rupees cheaper than the imported version.
Laxmi Group, a major business house in Nepal, has built the assembly plant in Nawalparasi to manufacture Hyundai vehicles. The plant first started assembling the Venue model and has now moved on to the Creta. Spread across 10 bighas of land, the plant has a production capacity of 1.5 units per hour, meaning it can produce one and a half cars per hour.
Hyundai Creta Electric Launch in Nepal
Hyundai has officially launched the Creta EV in Nepal today, marking an exciting addition to its electric vehicle (EV) lineup. The Creta Electric is designed to be an affordable and stylish EV option, catering to the increasing demand for electric vehicles in Nepal.
A Modern Design with Electric Appeal
The Hyundai Creta Electric maintains a similar look to the Creta N Line but features distinct EV elements. The front grille has a closed-off panel with pixelated detailing, and a charging flap is neatly integrated with the Hyundai logo. The split headlights and inverted L-shaped LED DRLs give the EV a futuristic appearance.
On the side, the Creta Electric retains its original silhouette, enhanced by black roof accents, sleek window lines, and 17-inch aero-styled alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. The battery pack, placed under the floor, is visible upon closer inspection. At the rear, the Creta Electric closely resembles the ICE version but includes connected LED tail lights and a slightly redesigned bumper.
A Premium Cabin with Smart Upgrades
Inside, the Creta Electric offers a dual-tone white and navy blue cabin, complemented by white leatherette upholstery. The new 3-spoke steering wheel and stalk-style drive mode selector add a futuristic touch, similar to Hyundai’s Ioniq 5.
Without a traditional gear lever, the center console now features controls for ventilated seats, an electronic parking brake, drive modes, and a large storage compartment. The dual-screen dashboard includes an updated EV-specific interface, showing important information like battery status and range.
For added comfort, the rear seat comes with fold-out tables, sunblinds, rear AC vents, and two Type-C USB chargers, making the Creta Electric a great choice for families and long trips.
