Nothing Phone (3) Launched with Glyph Matrix Design and Quad 50MP Camera Setup

London-based smartphone brand Nothing has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Nothing Phone (3). Since entering the market in 2022, the company has continued to push design and innovation boundaries, and Phone (3) is no exception.

According to CEO Carl Pei, the new model uses premium materials, top-tier performance hardware, and refined software. Nothing claims the Phone (3) is built to compete directly with major Android brands like Samsung.

New Glyph Matrix Interface

One of the most noticeable changes in Phone (3) is the redesigned Glyph Matrix, replacing the traditional Glyph interface. This new feature is a micro-LED display located on the back of the phone, designed to reduce screen time by allowing users to view app notifications, contact info, and real-time progress without unlocking the main display.

In addition, the company has introduced a new software experience called Glyph Toys, which transforms the back screen into a digital clock, stopwatch, and battery indicator. A button on the back also allows users to play simple games.

To further personalize the device, Nothing is offering a public SDK so developers and users can create their own widgets and mini-games. A new Color ID feature that displays the caller’s name or number on the Glyph Matrix is also in the pipeline.

Display and Camera

The Phone (3) features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and peak brightness of 4,500 nits, making it the brightest and sharpest display from Nothing to date. It also supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

Photography is a major highlight, with a quad 50MP camera setup—three on the back and one on the front. The main and periscope lenses include Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). All lenses support 4K video recording at 60 fps.

Performance and Hardware

Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, running at a clock speed of 3.21GHz. This new processor is said to be 36% faster than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 used in the Phone (2), with 88% better GPU performance.

The Phone (3) comes in two memory/storage variants:

  • 12GB RAM + 256GB storage
  • 16GB RAM + 512GB storage

A 5,150mAh battery supports 65W wired and 15W wireless charging, with Nothing claiming up to 80 hours of battery life on a full charge.

Smart Features and Updates

The phone introduces an Essential Key, a dedicated button that opens the Essential Space app. This app includes a new Flip to Record feature, which starts recording when the phone is flipped and the button is pressed. The recording is then automatically transcribed into a summary.

The Phone (3) runs on Android 15 and will receive five years of platform updates and seven years of security updates, according to the company.

Pricing and Availability

Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone (3) begin on July 4, with global sales starting from July 15. Pricing is as follows:

  • $799 (approx. NPR 110,000) for the 12GB + 256GB variant
  • $899 (approx. NPR 123,000) for the 16GB + 512GB variant

This pricing puts it in direct competition with Samsung’s Galaxy S25 lineup.
