Nothing has officially stepped into the premium over-ear headphone market with the launch of the Nothing Headphone (1) — a bold, transparent-styled alternative priced at $299 (approximately NPR 39,500). Designed to pair perfectly with the newly launched Nothing Phone (3), these headphones bring high-end audio features wrapped in a head-turning design only Nothing could pull off.
A Transparent Design That Turns Heads
Taking design cues from the brand’s iconic aesthetic, the Headphone (1) features semi-transparent ear cups that showcase some of the internal components. The aluminum frame with soft curves and oval-shaped cutouts offers a striking mix of tech minimalism and mechanical detail.
Unlike most modern headphones, Nothing skips the usual touch-sensitive surfaces. Instead, they’ve introduced a tactile control experience:
- A volume roller that scrolls smoothly (and also acts as play/pause).
- A paddle for skipping or rewinding tracks.
- A customizable button for launching voice assistants or Nothing’s own Essential Space software.
- A dedicated Bluetooth pairing button, cleverly hidden inside the ear cup.
Each control is shaped and positioned for intuitive access — no more guessing or removing the headphones just to adjust settings.
Engineered for Premium Audio
Co-developed with British Hi-Fi legends KEF, the Headphone (1) is equipped with custom 40mm dynamic drivers and supports:
- Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with four feedback microphones
- Spatial Audio with head tracking
- Hi-Res Audio and lossless playback
- Dual-device connectivity, letting you switch between your Nothing Phone (3) and your laptop seamlessly
Sound tuning leans slightly toward bass but delivers a rich and immersive audio experience. The upgraded Nothing X app now includes:
- 8-band EQ
- Control remapping (including ANC, voice assistant, spatial audio, or EQ preset toggles)
Built for All-Day Comfort
Weighing just 329 grams, the Headphone (1) is lighter than Apple’s AirPods Max and feels well-balanced even after long listening sessions. The plush PU leather padding on the ear cups and headband resists oils and makeup and is easy to clean. While the ear pads aren’t replaceable, they’re built to last. The adjustable headband arms also stay firmly in place, providing a secure yet flexible fit.
Battery & Durability
- Up to 80 hours of total playback time
- 35 hours with ANC enabled
- Quick charge: 5 minutes = 2.5+ hours of use
- IP52 water resistance, enough to handle sweat and light rain
Whether you’re working, commuting, or chilling at the gym, the Headphone (1) is designed to keep up.
Seamless Experience with Nothing Phones
When paired with the Nothing Phone (3), users get access to Essential Space, allowing them to switch between recent audio apps without touching their phone. Apps like Spotify, Audible, SoundCloud, and Patreon already support this smart handoff feature.
