Bajaj has officially launched its first electric scooter, the Chetak 3501, in Nepal. Hansraj Hulaschand & Co., the authorized distributor of Bajaj for Nepal, unveiled the scooter during a formal launch event in Kathmandu.
Nepal marks the first international market for the Chetak 3501, signaling Bajaj’s strategic expansion beyond India. The scooter is equipped with a 3.5 kWh battery that delivers a certified range of 153 kilometers on a single charge — making it well-suited for both urban and semi-urban riders across Nepal.
The Chetak 3501 supports fast charging technology and can be charged from 0 to 80% in just 3 hours, offering convenience to daily commuters.
Built for Nepali Roads and Weather
Designed with a full-metal body and IP67-rated water resistance, the Bajaj Chetak 3501 is engineered to withstand Nepal’s diverse weather conditions. Its innovative floorboard battery placement allows for a segment-leading 35 liters of under-seat storage — enhancing practicality without compromising comfort.
Smart Tech and Features
The scooter comes equipped with a smart TFT touchscreen console that includes:
- Integrated navigation
- Music control
- Document storage
- Call handling
With additional tech packs, users can unlock intelligent features such as:
- Remote immobilization
- Guide-me-home lights
- Geo-fencing
- Anti-theft protection
- Accident detection
These features aim to provide a secure and connected riding experience, especially for tech-savvy young riders.
Regional Launch Significance
Manish Thapar, Vice President of Bajaj Auto’s Asia Region Export Business Unit, said the launch represents a strategic move in expanding Bajaj’s electric two-wheeler presence globally. “The Chetak 3501 combines classic Chetak styling with advanced technology, appealing to today’s young and tech-forward generation,” he said.
Abhimanyu Golchha, Director of Golchha Group, expressed pride in hosting Bajaj’s first international launch in Nepal. He called it a milestone not just for electric mobility but also as a symbol of the long-term partnership between Bajaj Auto and Golchha Group.
Price and Availability
The Bajaj Chetak 3501 is priced at NPR 3,24,900 in Nepal. Customers can experience the scooter at the newly developed Chetak Customer Experience Zone in Naxal, Kathmandu. Bookings are now open through authorized dealers across the country.
The Chetak 3501 will also be showcased at the upcoming NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025, starting Shrawan 21 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
