The highly anticipated Proton EMAS-7 electric SUV is officially launching in Nepal tomorrow, February 19, 2025. Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal, will reveal the introductory prices and full specifications of the models available in the country. Expected to comes in two models, with prices set at NPR 68,90,000 for the bigger battery version (60.22 kWh) and NPR 58,90,000 for the smaller battery version (49.52 kWh).
The EMAS-7, a premium electric SUV, is expected to come in two variants—“Max” and “Lite.” The Max variant features a larger 60.22 kWh battery, while the Lite variant is equipped with a 49.52 kWh battery. Based on previous reports, these models are powered by a 160 kW motor, offering impressive ranges of up to 410 km (Max) and 345 km (Lite) under WLTP standards.
The SUV is front-wheel drive and delivers 320 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.9 seconds, with a top speed of 175 km/h. The battery is claimed to last up to 400,000 kilometers while maintaining 90.5% health after 921 charge cycles.
Expected key features include a two-spoke steering wheel, a 10-inch digital instrument display, a 15.4-inch infotainment screen, a 13-inch head-up display, wireless phone charging, and a panoramic sunroof. The EMAS-7 also offers 256-color ambient lighting, ventilated power seats, a premium 16-speaker sound system, and advanced Level 2 ADAS safety features.
The Proton EMAS-7 is a right-hand-drive adaptation of Geely’s Galaxy E-5, specifically designed for markets like Nepal. Proton, a Malaysian brand, is 51% owned by Geely Group.
