Hyundai Creta Electric Set to Launch in Nepal: Features, Specifications, and Pricing

The Hyundai Creta Electric is all set to make its debut in the Nepali market, promising to be an affordable and stylish addition to Hyundai’s electric vehicle (EV) lineup. The launch comes amidst increasing interest in EVs in Nepal, and the Creta Electric is expected to cater to a wide range of customers with its modern design, advanced features, and impressive range options.

A Modern Design with Electric Appeal

At first glance, the Hyundai Creta Electric maintains a familiar look, resembling the Creta N Line but with distinct EV elements. The front grille is a closed-off panel with pixelated detailing and features a charging flap neatly integrated with the Hyundai logo. The split headlights and inverted L-shaped LED DRLs carry over from the standard Creta, giving the EV a recognizable yet futuristic appearance.

From the side, the Creta Electric retains its original silhouette, enhanced by black roof accents, sleek window lines, and 17-inch aero-styled alloy wheels for better aerodynamics. The battery pack, placed under the floor, is visible upon closer inspection.

At the rear, the Creta Electric mirrors the ICE version, with connected LED tail lights and subtle bumper redesigns marking the differences.

A Premium Cabin with Smart Upgrades

Inside, the Creta Electric offers a dual-tone white and navy blue cabin, complemented by white leatherette upholstery. The all-new 3-spoke steering wheel and stalk-style drive mode selector bring a futuristic touch, inspired by Hyundai’s global models like the Ioniq 5.

The absence of a traditional gear lever has freed up space in the center console, now equipped with controls for ventilated seats, electronic parking brake, drive modes, and a large storage compartment. The dual-screen dashboard with an updated EV-specific interface provides vital information like battery status and range.

Passengers in the rear seat enjoy added conveniences such as fold-out tables, sunblinds, rear AC vents, and two Type-C USB chargers, making the Creta Electric a practical choice for families and long trips.

Performance and Range

Hyundai will offer the Creta Electric in Nepal with a single powertrain option initially. The specifications include:

  • Battery Pack: 42 kWh
  • Range: 390 km (ARAI-claimed)
  • Motor: 99 kW
  • Power Output: 135 PS
  • Ground Clearance: 200 MM

The EV supports fast and standard charging, with a DC fast charger recharging the battery from 10% to 80% in just 58 minutes, while an 11 kW AC charger takes around 4 hours for a full charge.

Features and Technology

Key features of the Creta Electric include:

  • Panoramic sunroof.
  • Vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability for powering devices.
  • Wireless phone charging.
  • 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory settings.
  • Foldable rear-seat tables and rear sunblinds.

Pricing and Booking

Hyundai Nepal has already begun blind bookings for the Creta Electric with a deposit amount of NPR 1 lakh. While official pricing will be revealed soon, the starting price is expected to be around NPR 50 lakh.

Competition in Nepal

The Hyundai Creta Electric will compete with other EVs in Nepal, including the Omoda E5 Delux, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6 (expected in June), and upcoming models like the Maruti eVitara and Tata Curvv EV.

With its blend of style, performance, and practicality, the Hyundai Creta Electric is poised to be a strong contender in Nepal’s growing EV market. Stay tuned for the official launch and detailed pricing.
