Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025: Spotlight on Electric Innovations with Potential Entry into Nepal

The Indian automotive industry is abuzz with anticipation as the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 prepares to dazzle car enthusiasts from January 17 to 22. Major automakers will unveil cutting-edge vehicles, with some potentially making their way to Nepal. Here’s a glimpse at the highlights expected to steal the show:

Mahindra BE 6

The Mahindra BE 6 aims to grab attention with its bold design, advanced features, and impressive performance. Equipped with two Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery options — a 59kWh unit and a 79kWh unit — the BE 6 offers versatility. The smaller battery delivers 228hp, while the larger one produces 281hp, with 380Nm of torque across variants.

The higher-spec variant accelerates from 0-100km/h in just 6.7 seconds, while the larger battery provides an ARAI-certified range of 682km. Fast charging is a key feature, with the battery charging from 20% to 80% in 20 minutes using a 175kW DC fast charger. Standard charging options include an 11.2kW AC charger (0-100% in 8 hours for the 79kWh variant) and a 7.3kW AC charger (0-100% in 11.7 hours).

Given Mahindra’s presence in Nepal, the BE 6 could be a strong candidate for introduction into the market, catering to growing EV demand.

Hyundai Creta EV

Marking a decade since the launch of its ICE counterpart, the Hyundai Creta Electric is all set to debut with two battery options — 42kWh and 51.4kWh — and motor configurations offering 135PS and 171PS.

The Creta EV delivers a range of 390km (42kWh) and 473km (51.4kWh) per charge. Charging is efficient, with a 10-100% charge achieved in 4 hours using an 11kW wall box charger, and a 10-80% charge in 58 minutes via a DC fast charger.

The interior features a premium Granite Grey and Dark Navy theme, dual 10.25-inch displays, and modern conveniences like touch-enabled dual automatic temperature control. Given Hyundai’s popularity in Nepal, the Creta EV could become a top contender in the growing EV market there.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki’s first electric SUV, the e Vitara, showcases innovation with its Heartect-e platform, specifically designed for BEVs. Part of the Suzuki-Toyota global alliance, the e Vitara comes with 49kWh and 61kWh battery options and FWD and AWD configurations.

The AWD variant delivers a combined output of 181bhp and 300Nm of torque, with an estimated range exceeding 500km per charge. With Maruti Suzuki’s strong brand presence in Nepal, the e Vitara could be a game-changer for EV adoption in the country.

MG Cyberster

MG Motor is set to electrify the expo with the Cyberster, a sleek electric roadster. Available in single and dual-motor configurations, it delivers a combined power of up to 510PS and 725Nm torque, with a range of up to 508km (WLTP).

Key features include scissor-opening doors, a 3-screen cockpit, and an 8-speaker Bose audio system. Its futuristic design and high performance make it a premium option for Nepal’s growing luxury EV market as it is already available in Nepal.

BMW X3

Luxury enthusiasts can look forward to the new BMW X3, which features a refreshed design, including a larger kidney grille with LED accents. The X3 will come in two powertrain options for India: a 206 bhp petrol variant and a 197 bhp diesel variant, both paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

While the EV variant of the X3 might not yet be available, its petrol and diesel models might couldn’t find the way to Nepal.

With India’s automotive industry accelerating toward electrification, several of these models may cross borders into Nepal, catering to its rising demand for eco-friendly and high-tech vehicles. The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 promises to be a transformative event for the region’s mobility landscape.
