Nepal’s automotive market is gearing up for one of its busiest product launch seasons, with more than 15 new car models scheduled to debut during the first month of the fiscal year 2083/84 (July/August 2026).
Most of the launches will take place at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026, which begins on August 10 (Shrawan 26), while several brands are expected to unveil their new models even before the exhibition.
The upcoming launches will be heavily dominated by electric vehicles (EVs), with nearly half a dozen new automotive brands making their official debut in Nepal. Existing brands are also preparing to expand their portfolios with new hatchbacks, SUVs, and MPVs.
Proton eMas 5 Expected Before NAIMA Expo

Malaysian automaker Proton is likely to kick off the launch season with the eMas 5 electric hatchback. Jagdamba Motors, the brand’s official distributor in Nepal, has already opened bookings for the new EV ahead of its official launch.
Leapmotor B03 to Debut at NAIMA

Shangrila Motors is set to introduce the Leapmotor B03 electric SUV during the mobility expo. The model, which is sold as the A10 in the Chinese market, will make its official Nepal debut at the event.
Tata Preparing Multiple EV Launches

Sipradi Trading is expected to strengthen Tata’s EV lineup by launching the Tata Punch EV and the facelifted Tiago EV. The company may also surprise visitors by unveiling the highly anticipated Tata Sierra EV, although its launch has yet to be officially confirmed.
Hyundai to Introduce IONIQ 9 and Locally Assembled Venue

Hyundai Nepal is preparing to launch its flagship electric SUV, the Hyundai IONIQ 9, which has already arrived in the country.
In addition, Laxmi Intercontinental is also expected to unveil the all-new locally assembled Hyundai Venue during the NAIMA Mobility Expo, marking another milestone for local vehicle assembly in Nepal.
Laxmi Group Bringing Three New Brands
Laxmi Group is set to introduce three new automotive brands to Nepal: Jetour, RFOX, and BAIC.

Among the confirmed launches are:
- BAIC BJ30e SUV
- RFOX T-One hatchback
While the company has not officially revealed which Jetour model will arrive first, industry expectations point toward the rugged Jetour T2 off-road SUV.

Chery QQ and Omoda O4 Joining the Market
SPG Automobiles will officially launch the Chery QQ3 crossover hatchback, introducing the Chery QQ brand to Nepal for the first time.

The company is also expected to unveil the Omoda O4, further expanding Chery Group’s presence in the Nepali market.
Changan’s Nevo Brand to Enter Nepal
MAW Vriddhi is preparing to launch Nevo, Changan’s new-energy sub-brand, in Nepal with the introduction of the Nevo Q05 electric SUV.

Wuling Planning Four New Models

Paramount Motors, the official distributor of Wuling, is expected to launch four new vehicles during the expo:
- Wuling Xingyun SUV
- Wuling Darrion MPV
- Wuling Mini EV
- Facelifted Wuling Bingo
Aion UT and Nissan Tecton Also Expected

CG Motors is preparing to introduce the Aion UT electric hatchback.
Meanwhile, Pioneer Moto Corp is expected to launch the Nissan Tecton SUV, which recently went on sale in the Indian market.
More Launches Likely
Other major brands, including BYD and Mahindra, are also expected to introduce new models during the month. However, the companies have not yet disclosed which vehicles they plan to launch.
Additionally, new brands such as Lepas and Hongqi could make their Nepal debut during the NAIMA Mobility Expo, although their participation has not been officially confirmed.
With more than 15 new models and several new brands entering the market, Shrawan 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most significant months for Nepal’s automotive industry, reinforcing the country’s rapidly expanding electric vehicle ecosystem and increasing consumer choice.
