Proton e.MAS 5 Launched in Nepal Starting at Rs. 29.99 Lakh

Proton has officially launched its new all-electric hatchback, the Proton e.MAS 5, in the Nepali market. The vehicle is now available for sale through Jagdamba Motors, the authorized distributor of Proton vehicles in Nepal.

The Proton e.MAS 5 is offered in two variants — Prime and Premium. The Prime variant is priced at Rs. 29.99 lakh, while the Premium variant is available for Rs. 34.99 lakh. With this pricing, the e.MAS 5 enters the market as a more affordable alternative to rivals such as the BYD Atto 1 and Dongfeng Box.

The e.MAS 5 is based on Geely’s Xingyuan electric hatchback, which has been rebadged by Proton for international markets.

Battery, Motor and Range

The Prime variant is powered by a 58 kW electric motor producing 130 Nm of torque. It is equipped with a 30.12 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed driving range of 225 km on a full charge.

The Premium variant features a more powerful 85 kW electric motor delivering 150 Nm of torque. It comes with a larger 40.16 kWh battery, providing a claimed range of 325 km per full charge.

Charging

The Proton e.MAS 5 supports both 3.3 kW AC charging and DC fast charging up to 80 kW. According to the company, the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in just 21 minutes using a DC fast charger.

Dimensions

Built on a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) platform, the e.MAS 5 measures:

  • Length: 4,135 mm
  • Width: 1,805 mm
  • Height: 1,570 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,650 mm

The hatchback also offers a compact 4.95-meter turning radius, making it well suited for urban driving.

Interior and Features

The cabin features a modern and technology-focused design. Standard equipment includes an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, multifunction steering wheel, and either a 10.1-inch or 14.6-inch infotainment display, depending on the variant.

On the safety front, the Proton e.MAS 5 comes equipped with:
