Nothing Phone (4a) and Phone (4a) Pro unveiled with brighter displays, periscope cameras and new Glyph design

Nothing has officially unveiled its latest mid-range smartphones, the Nothing Phone (4a) and Nothing Phone (4a) Pro, bringing major upgrades in display brightness, camera technology and AI-powered features. The launch comes after the company confirmed earlier this year that it would skip releasing the flagship Nothing Phone (4) in 2026 and instead focus on strengthening its popular (a) series.

Major design change for the Pro model

The Phone (4a) Pro marks one of the biggest design shifts for Nothing. The company has removed the signature translucent back panel seen on previous models and replaced it with a metal unibody design available in black, silver and pink.

The device features an upgraded Glyph Matrix interface, which is larger and brighter than the Glyph lighting system used in earlier Nothing phones. According to the company, the new design also improves durability and thermal management. The phone is rated IP65 for dust and water resistance, making it more durable for everyday use.

Brighter display and powerful camera system

The Phone (4a) Pro comes with a 6.83-inch AMOLED display featuring a 144Hz refresh rate and an impressive 5,000 nits peak brightness, making it one of the brightest displays in its category.

In the camera department, the device includes a quad-camera setup consisting of:

  • 50MP primary camera
  • 50MP periscope telephoto lens with up to 140x zoom
  • Ultra-wide camera
  • 32MP front selfie camera

Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, paired with a 5,080mAh battery that Nothing claims can deliver up to 17 hours of usage.

Phone (4a) brings meaningful upgrades

The standard Phone (4a) retains Nothing’s iconic transparent design but introduces a refreshed look with new color options including blue and pink, alongside the usual white and black.

One notable change is the introduction of a Glyph Bar, a simplified lighting strip next to the camera module. The lighting system consists of 63 mini-LEDs and is brighter than previous Glyph implementations.

The Phone (4a) features:

  • 6.78-inch AMOLED display
  • 120Hz refresh rate
  • 1.5K resolution
  • 4,500 nits peak brightness
  • Gorilla Glass 7i protection

The phone also shares the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset and 5,080mAh battery found in the Pro version.

Its camera system includes a 50MP main sensor capable of capturing 64% more light, along with a tetraprism periscope telephoto lens offering 3.5x optical zoom, 7x lossless zoom and up to 70x ultra zoom.

AI features with Nothing OS 4.1

Both devices run on Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16, bringing several AI-driven features such as:

  • Essential Search for cross-app information lookup
  • Essential Space for personalized content and memories
  • Nothing Playground, allowing users to create AI-generated widgets

Nothing has promised three years of Android updates and six years of security updates for the new phones.

Pricing and availability

Global pre-orders for the Phone (4a) have already started, with prices beginning at €349 for the base model and going up to €429 for higher storage variants.

Meanwhile, the Phone (4a) Pro will be available for pre-order starting March 13, priced at $499 for the 8GB/128GB version and $599 for the 12GB/256GB variant.

While Nothing has not yet announced official availability for Nepal. Once we receive official update will update the details.
