Xiaomi has launched its latest budget smartphone, the Redmi A5, in Nepal. The phone, which was first announced globally in March 2025, comes with a very competitive price tag.
The Redmi A5 is priced at NPR 10,999 for the model with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The version with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage costs NPR 11,999. You can buy the phone at official Xiaomi stores and authorized retailers across Nepal.
Xiaomi is also offering a special two-year warranty on the Redmi A5. According to the company, this is the only phone in its price range to offer such a long warranty. This warranty covers repairs for most hardware and software issues, except for the battery and charger, which still have a six-month warranty.
The Redmi A5 is an upgrade to the previous Redmi A3 model. Despite the improvements, Xiaomi has actually lowered the price of the Redmi A5 by NPR 1,000 compared to the A3.
The Redmi A5 features a large 6.88-inch display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
It is powered by a UNISOC T7250 processor. The phone has a 32MP main camera on the back and an 8MP front camera for selfies. It also has a large 5,200mAh battery with 15W fast charging support. The Redmi A5 runs on Android 15 (Go Edition), which is a lighter version of Android designed for entry-level phones. 4 It comes in four colors: Ocean Blue, Lake Green, Sandy Gold, and Midnight Black.
