Ather Energy has introduced its 2025 model year electric scooters to the Nepalese market. The company launched updated versions of two models from its Ather 450 series.
Coinciding with the launch of these updated scooters, the company announced a price reduction of NPR 40,000. Vaidya Energy, a part of Vaidya’s Organization and the official distributor for the Indian scooter brand Ather in Nepal, unveiled the updated Ather 450X and 450S models.
The newly launched scooters feature several enhancements, including three-mode traction control, Ather Stack 6 software, an increased IDC (Indian Driving Cycle) range of up to 161 kilometers, and new color options.
The updated pricing is as follows:
- Ather 450X (2.9 kWh battery): NPR 364,999
- Ather 450X (3.7 kWh battery): NPR 399,999
- Ather 450S (2.9 kWh battery): NPR 324,999
Previously, the top variant of the Ather 450X (presumably the 3.7 kWh version) was priced at NPR 439,999.
Speaking at the launch event, Suryansh Vaidya, Managing Director of Vaidya Energy, highlighted three main challenges hindering electric scooter sales in Nepal: inadequate service, concerns about battery assurance, and charging infrastructure limitations.
To address the charging issue, Vaidya mentioned that Ather has already installed 21 fast chargers across Nepal and plans to expand this network to 100 locations soon.
He also stated that Ather has successfully become the number one electric scooter company in Nepal within 16 months of commencing sales. Furthermore, Ather announced that it will provide free charging facilities for its users until the end of 2026.
