The WADA Auto Show, considered Nepal’s second-biggest automobile exhibition after the main NADA Auto Show in Kathmandu, started today in Pokhara.
The event is organized by the Western Automobiles Dealers’ Association (WADA) and sponsored by the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal (NADA). It is taking place at the Amar Singh Ground and will continue until the 17th of this month.
This show is significant as it brings many major vehicle brands together for a large-scale event outside the Kathmandu Valley. More than 30 brands are participating, showcasing:
- Passenger Cars: Including brands like Leapmotor, Deepal, Omoda, BYD, Nami, MG, Tata, Kia, Toyota, Skywell, Zeekr, Nissan, Isuzu, Suzuki, Mahindra, Ridara, Xpeng, Kaiyi, and Seres.
- Light Commercial Vehicles: Featuring Kama, U Go Now, Skyworth, Higer, and Dongfeng.
- Two-Wheelers: With stalls from Bajaj, Ather, TVS, Yamaha, Triumph, and Royal Enfield.
The show was officially opened by Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor, Dhanraj Acharya. He stated that this event proves major auto shows can be successful outside the capital city and that it can help stimulate the economy, which has been slow since the COVID-19 pandemic. He also noted that visitors can see modern vehicle technology at the show.
Dipendra Koirala, President of WADA, expressed hope that the auto show will provide an economic boost to Pokhara and offer some relief to the struggling auto industry. He believes it will also support the “Visit Pokhara 2025” tourism campaign.
NADA President Karan Chaudhary described auto shows as important events, almost like festivals, for the auto industry. He emphasized that such events help energize the economy and highlighted the auto sector’s significant contribution to national development.
A major draw for attendees are the special discounts and offers provided by the participating brands. These deals are available for customers who visit the show and book or purchase vehicles during the event. Organizers hope these incentives will attract buyers and help boost sales in the auto sector.
