Toyota Unveils All-New C-HR EV in Europe With Dual Battery Options & Up to 600 km Range

Toyota has today revealed the all-new battery electric Toyota C-HR+, a model set to be the cornerstone of its European BEV SUV offensive. Developed from the compact SUV concept presented in 2022 and building on the legacy of the wildly successful Toyota C-HR—with over a million European sales across two generations—the C-HR+ redefines the coupe-SUV formula with a striking blend of style, performance, and practicality.

Bold, Dynamic Design and “Plus” Versatility

Retaining the signature coupe-like silhouette of its predecessor, the C-HR+ features exclusive design cues that enhance its sporty character. Sharp, character-defining lines, a distinctive front bumper with a unique grille and headlight arrangement, and flush, high-mounted door handles combine to create an eye-catching exterior. The “+” in its name reflects the model’s added versatility: a cabin that exudes a “class above” feel, complete with an open, modern interior layout that maximizes headroom and offers a generous 416 litres of load space.

Premium Cabin and Advanced Connectivity

Inside, Toyota has raised the bar for comfort and connectivity. The streamlined cabin boasts ambient lighting, a 14-inch multimedia display that serves as the hub for navigation—complete with dedicated EV routing—and smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Thoughtful touches, such as dual wireless charging pads, rear USB ports, and dedicated air conditioning controls for rear passengers, ensure that every occupant enjoys both convenience and a premium sensory experience.

Tailored Power and Performance Options

Underpinned by Toyota’s dedicated e-TNGA BEV platform, the C-HR+ delivers a refined and engaging driving experience. Offering a wide range of options, Toyota presents two battery capacities: a 57.7 kWh unit exclusive to the front-wheel drive variant, and a more robust 77 kWh pack available for both front and all-wheel drive configurations. According to preliminary figures, the FWD model produces 167 DIN hp (123 kW) with the smaller battery, while opting for the 77 kWh pack boosts output to 224 DIN hp (165 kW). Notably, the all-wheel drive version is expected to deliver an impressive 343 DIN hp (252 kW) and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, making it one of the most powerful models in Toyota’s European range.

Efficiency and Next-Generation Technology

Efficiency is a key pillar of the C-HR+’s appeal. Toyota claims a maximum WLTP range of up to 600 km—depending on the chosen powertrain—and the vehicle supports fast DC charging up to 150 kW, with an onboard charger available at 11 kW (upgradeable to 22 kW on higher grades). Advanced battery pre-conditioning and energy-saving technologies, such as an innovative heat pump for the air conditioning system, further optimize performance under varying conditions.

Comprehensive Safety and Connectivity

Safety and connectivity have not been overlooked. The new C-HR+ comes standard with Toyota T-Mate, integrating the latest Toyota Safety Sense suite, which includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and an adaptive high-beam system. Enhanced connectivity through the MyToyota app allows owners to remotely monitor charging status, plan routes with charging station options, and manage key vehicle functions.

Strategic Market Rollout

Set to launch in selected European markets in late 2025—with a full rollout across Europe beginning in 2026—the Toyota C-HR+ is a vital addition to Toyota’s multi-pathway strategy toward carbon neutrality in Europe by 2035. It will sit alongside the all-new Urban Cruiser EV and the refreshed bZ4X, covering critical segments in the BEV SUV lineup and providing customers with extensive choices in battery capacity, drive configurations, and performance levels.

With its blend of cutting-edge design, innovative technology, and exhilarating performance, the Toyota C-HR+ promises to be a game-changer in the European C-SUV BEV market, appealing to both the heart and mind of today’s discerning drivers.
