Mahindra Unveils 7-Seater Electric SUV Under INR 20 Lakhs: The XUV 9e S

Mahindra has launched the new 7-seater electric SUV, the XUV 9e S, in India with an introductory price of INR 19.95 lakh. The company revealed the model during a special event held today.

The fully electric SUV measures 4,789 mm in length, 1,907 mm in width, and 1,694 mm in height, and comes with a 2,775 mm wheelbase. According to Mahindra, the XUV 9e S offers 218 mm of battery ground clearance and 207 mm from the body, ensuring confident performance on varied road conditions.

Design and Exterior

The XUV 9e S features a front fascia similar to the XUV 9e, equipped with a full-width LED DRL, vertically integrated LED headlamps, and an illuminated Mahindra EV logo at the center.

The SUV also includes flush door handles, new alloy wheel design, and black body cladding. For storage, it provides a generous 527-liter boot space and an additional 150-liter front trunk (frunk).

Interior & Features

Inside, the EV comes with a 12.3-inch triple-screen layout and a Vision AR HUD. The center and passenger displays are touch-enabled, while the driver display uses a TFT panel.

Platform & Performance

Built on Mahindra’s Born Electric INGLO platform, the XUV 9e S is equipped with:

  • I-Link front suspension
  • High-power steering with VGR chassis

Powering the SUV is a 210 kW rear-wheel-drive motor producing 282 hp and 380 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h in just 7 seconds and has a top speed of 202 km/h.

Mahindra is offering the EV with three battery pack options: 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh. It also supports 180 kW DC fast charging.

The XUV 9e S comes equipped with:

Availability

Bookings for the XUV 9e S will open on January 14, and deliveries will begin from January 23, according to the company.
