BYD Seagull to Launch in Nepal as Atto 1 – Official Debut at NAIMA Expo

BYD Nepal, under the official distributor Cimex Inc., is all set to unveil its much-anticipated electric hatchback Seagull in Nepal under the name Atto 1. The official debut and sales will begin tomorrow at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025.

Although BYD hasn’t officially confirmed variant details yet, sources reveal the Atto 1 will be available in two options:

  • Standard Range Dynamic: 30.08 kWh battery, 300 km range (NEDC)
  • Long Range Premium: 38.88 kWh battery, 380 km range (NEDC)

Both variants are expected to come with a 45 kW electric motor, delivering a smooth and efficient city driving experience.

The Atto 1 is positioned as an entry-level electric hatchback, a segment with growing demand in Nepal. Here’s a quick look at its dimensions:

  • Length: 3,780 mm
  • Width: 1,715 mm
  • Height: 1,580 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,500 mm

Despite its compact size, BYD has packed the Atto 1 with plenty of modern features:

  • 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
  • 7-inch digital instrument cluster
  • Hi-tech smart cockpit with minimalist design cues

While the official pricing is yet to be confirmed, the BYD Atto 1 is expected to fall in the Rs. 25–30 lakh range in Nepal. Once launched, it will directly compete with other urban EVs like the Tata Tiago EV and Wuling Bingo.

The BYD Atto 1 brings global EV quality and technology into an accessible city car package. With its smart design, decent range, and BYD’s trusted battery tech, it’s shaping up to be one of the most compelling entry-level electric hatchbacks in Nepal.
