Himalayan Organization Takes Over Maxus Vehicle Sales in Nepal, Starting with Electric Pickup

Himalayan Organization will now sell Maxus brand electric vehicles in Nepal. Previously, Paramount Motors was responsible for bringing Maxus vehicles into the Nepali market.

Paramount Motors used to sell Maxus pickups, vans, and the electric Mifa 9 vehicle. However, Himalayan Organization will now handle sales. It looks certain that Paramount Motors will stop selling the Maxus brand.

Himalayan Organization’s first Maxus vehicle will be the electric pickup truck called the Maxus eTerron 9. The company stated that this electric pickup is expected to reach the customs border within a week.

Himalayan Organization is led by Dhruv Thapa, who is the former president of the NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal. Mr. Thapa’s company already sells Force brand vehicles and runs a Deepal dealership in Pokhara. Now, they are confirmed to be bringing in this new electric pickup.

About the Maxus eTerron 9 Electric Pickup:

  • Battery: It has a large 102.2 kWh battery pack.
  • Range: On a full charge, it can travel up to 430 kilometers.
  • Charging:
    • Using a fast DC charger (115 kW), it takes about 42 minutes to charge from 20% to 80%.
    • Using a standard AC charger (11 kW), it takes about 12 hours to charge from 5% to 100%.
  • Capability: This is an all-electric pickup designed for off-roading with four-wheel drive (4×4).
  • Power: It has two motors: one in the front (125 kW power, 250 Nm torque) and one in the back (200 kW power, 450 Nm torque).
  • Suspension: It features air independent suspension.
  • Wheels: It comes with 20-inch wheels and includes a full-size spare tire.

Price: The estimated price for the Maxus eTerron 9 electric pickup is expected to be between 80 lakh and 90 lakh NPR.
