Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip7 made its debut at the July Galaxy Unpacked event alongside the Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7 FE, and Watch 8 Series. While folding phones aren’t new for Samsung, the Flip7 is easily the boldest-looking clamshell they’ve made so far — with a massive new cover display and sleeker, slimmer build.

Design Upgrades
The Flip7 now boasts a 4.1-inch FlexWindow cover display that wraps around the dual-camera cutout — a design cue that’s been trending in the market. The bezels are thinner, and the frame/hinge uses Armor Aluminum with a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 finish.
It’s also slimmer at 13.7mm folded, thanks to re-engineered waterproofing. The IP48 rating remains intact.
Display
- Cover Display: 4.1-inch Super AMOLED, 120Hz, 1048×948, HDR10, 2600 nits
- Main Display: 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X, 120Hz adaptive (1Hz–120Hz), HDR10+, 2600 nits
Both screens are bright enough for sunny outdoor use, and for the first time, the Flip7 supports Samsung DeX, turning it into a mini workstation.
Hardware
The Exynos 2500 (3nm) chipset makes its debut here instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It’s a 10-core processor with slightly better performance than the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 but just shy of the 8 Gen 4 flagship.
Nepal gets the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant.
Cameras
- Rear: 50MP (wide, OIS) + 12MP (ultrawide)
- Front: 10MP selfie camera
No telephoto lens yet, but you can use the main camera for high-quality selfies with the phone half-folded.
Battery & Charging
- 4,300mAh battery
- 25W wired, 15W wireless, 4.5W reverse wireless charging
While not industry-leading, it’s an improvement over the Flip6.
Software & AI
Ships with Android 16 and One UI 8.1.1, with 7 years of security updates (OS update policy likely similar).
New features include Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) and AI tools like Gemini Live for real-time voice-based info.
The Flip7 finally catches up with market trends with its massive cover screen and sleeker design. It’s not perfect — faster charging and a telephoto camera would’ve been nice — but the bold switch to Exynos 2500 makes this one of the most interesting Samsung flips yet.
