JAECOO, the new energy brand of Chery, is bringing two new SUVs to Nepal soon. The announcement was made by its official distributor, SPG Automobiles, during the brand’s first-anniversary celebration in Nepal.
During the event, Gyandendra Chand, General Manager of Sales and Marketing, shared the company’s journey and future plans. He said, “Our customers have supported us in the first year. Now, within the next 2-3 months, we will introduce two new SUVs.” He also mentioned that the new SUVs will have very competitive prices in the automobile market.
Two New JAECOO SUVs
The company will launch both new models under the JAECOO brand. The SUVs are named JAECOO J5 and JAECOO V23. These two models will have different designs and features. After their launch, JAECOO will have four models in Nepal.
JAECOO J5
Not many details about the JAECOO J5 have been revealed yet, but reports suggest it will have a 200 kW motor and a range of over 500 km.
The dimensions of the J5 are:
- Length: 4,380 mm
- Width: 1,860 mm
- Height: 1,650 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,620 mm
It is slightly smaller than the J6 model but has a very different body design. The J5 is a B-segment SUV and is designed with advanced technology, modern style, and practicality in mind.

- Sleek rear lights
- 13.2-inch vertical infotainment screen
- Two-spoke steering wheel with digital instrument cluster

JAECOO V23
The JAECOO V23 is a powerful off-road SUV, also known as iCar V23 in China. It is available in rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions, but it is not confirmed which one will come to Nepal.

- 47.28 kWh (LFP battery) – 301 km range
- 59.93 kWh (LFP battery) – 401 km range
- 81.76 kWh (Ternary lithium battery) – 501 km range
Motor Power:
- RWD model: 100 kW motor
- AWD model: Combined 155 kW power (100 kW rear, 55 kW front)
The dimensions of the V23 are:
- Length: 4,220 mm
- Width: 1,915 mm
- Height: 1,845 mm
- Wheelbase: 2,735 mm
- Ground clearance: 200 mm or 210 mm (depending on the variant)
- Approach angle: 42°
- Departure angle: 40°
The JAECOO V23 is packed with ADAS safety features, including:
- Horizon Robotics J3 chip
- 8 MP front camera & 3 MP surround cameras
- 5 mm wave radar & 12 ultrasonic radars
- High-speed navigation, emergency lane keeping, traffic jam assist
- Automatic, remote & memory parking
Its boxy off-road design includes a smoked front grille, round headlights, roof luggage rack, and hidden door handles.
With these two new SUVs, JAECOO aims to expand its market and offer modern, feature-rich, and affordable vehicles in Nepal.
