MG S5 Launched in Nepal for Rs. 43.99 Lakh, ZS EV Discontinued

MG has launched its new SUV, the MG S5, in Nepal. The official distributor, Paramount Motors, has started selling the vehicle.

The MG S5 comes in three variants with two battery options: a 49 kWh battery and a larger 62 kWh battery. The top model with the 62 kWh battery is priced at Rs. 54.99 lakh.

The 49 kWh battery version is available in two variants. The base model, which does not have features like a sunroof and leather seats, costs Rs. 43.99 lakh. The fully-loaded variant of this model is priced at Rs. 49.99 lakh.

Bookings for the MG S5 are now open, and deliveries will start soon. Customers can book the SUV by paying Rs. 50,000.

Battery and Charging

  • The 49 kWh battery offers a range of 340 km, while the 62 kWh battery provides 430 km (as per WLTP tests).
  • All variants have a 99 kW electric motor.
  • Fast charging:
    • The smaller battery can charge from 30% to 80% in 26 minutes.
    • The larger battery takes 21 minutes to charge from 30% to 80%.

Features

  • Interior: The car has a minimalist design, with a 12.8-inch infotainment screen and a 10.25-inch driver display.
  • Seats: Heated and ventilated seats are available.
  • Ground Clearance: 180 mm, which is suitable for Nepal’s roads.
  • Battery: The S5 uses a CATL LFP battery, which is thinner and allows for more cabin space.

ZS EV Discontinued

MG will no longer sell the ZS EV in Nepal. The S5 is replacing it, but it remains to be seen how well it will be received by customers.
