Juneyao Auto, a Chinese automaker, has officially entered the Nepalese electric vehicle market with the launch of its premium electric sedan, the JY Air. The sedan is brought to Nepal by LRR Motors and unveiled at the ongoing NADA Auto Show 2025.
The JY Air comes in two variants – JY Air Lite and JY Air Ultra – priced at an introductory Rs 49.99 lakh and Rs 63.99 lakh respectively (down from their original prices of Rs 54 lakh and Rs 68 lakh).
The JY Air Ultra packs a 64 kWh LFP battery paired with a 99 kW motor producing 250 Nm of torque. It offers a WLTC-certified range of 440 km on a full charge. Charging options include DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in about 21 minutes and AC full charging in approximately 6.5 hours. Key features include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, a 360-degree camera system, seven airbags, L2 ADAS, cruise control, ABS, EBD, TCS, ESC, TPMS, 19-inch alloy wheels, electric tailgate, a 15.6-inch rotatable touchscreen with an 8.8-inch instrument panel, wireless CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-way electrically adjustable front seats, a wireless charger, and a panoramic glass sunroof.
The JY Air Lite is powered by a 51 kWh LFP battery with the same 99 kW motor and 250 Nm torque setup. It offers a WLTC range of 355 km, making it suitable for daily urban commutes. DC fast charging takes about 30 minutes from 30% to 80%, while AC full charging takes approximately 5.3 hours. Standard features include V2L functionality, a 360-degree camera, L2 ADAS features, cruise control, ABS, EBD, TCS, ESC, TPMS, 17-inch alloy wheels, an electric tailgate, a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-way manually adjustable driver and co-driver seats, and rear-wheel drive.
Both variants share the same dimensions: 4,550 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width, 1,515 mm in height, a wheelbase of 2,800 mm, and a ground clearance of 172 mm.
With its premium design, long-range capability, and competitive pricing, the Juneyao JY Air aims to compete in Nepal’s growing mid-size EV sedan segment. Positioned above mainstream compact EVs but more affordable than luxury imports, it targets customers seeking style, advanced features, and practicality in a modern electric sedan.
The JY Air Lite and Ultra are now available for bookings via LRR Motors at the NADA Auto Show 2025.
