iCar V23 Arrives in Nepal, Launch Scheduled for Next Week

Chery Motors’ lifestyle off-road SUV, the iCar V23, has officially arrived in Nepal. The vehicle has been imported by SPG Automobiles, the authorized distributor of Chery in Nepal.

The company originally planned to showcase the iCar V23 during the NIMA Mobility Expo earlier this year. However, due to roadblocks on the Tatopani border route, the SUV could not make it to the event despite clearing Chinese customs on time.

According to SPG Automobiles’ General Manager, Gyanendra Chand, the iCar V23 has now entered Nepal but has not yet reached Kathmandu because of a landslide at Ikhu in Sindhupalchok along the Kodari Highway. “The landslide clearance work is ongoing, and the vehicle should arrive in Kathmandu within a couple of days. We plan to officially launch the iCar V23 by the end of next week,” Chand told MeroAuto.

Previously, Chery’s iCar 03 entered Nepal and was marketed under the name JCO J6. The newly imported iCar V23, however, will be launched under the iCar brand itself.

Rugged Lifestyle EV SUV

The iCar V23 is a battery-electric compact SUV inspired by BAIC’s BJ212 design language. Its rugged, lifestyle-oriented styling is expected to attract younger buyers in Nepal.

Powered by a 100 kW rear-wheel drive motor, the V23 comes equipped with a 60 kWh LFP battery pack, offering a claimed driving range of up to 400 km.

On the exterior, the SUV features a smoked front grille, round LED headlamps, squared-off face, roof luggage rack, hidden door handles, external storage container, and a side-opening rear door—giving it a distinctive off-road-ready appearance.

Inside, the cabin is loaded with modern tech, including a 15.4-inch center touchscreen powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, a 7-speaker audio system, 90L underfloor trunk, under-seat storage, automatic parking system, and a comprehensive driver-assist suite.
