Chery iCar V23 EV Arriving in Nepal – Official Launch Tomorrow

SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of Chery vehicles in Nepal, has brought the much-anticipated Chery iCar V23 electric SUV to Kathmandu. The SUV was originally scheduled to arrive three weeks earlier but faced delays due to landslides along the Tatopani border route.

The iCar V23 is designed as a hardcore lifestyle SUV with a rugged, neo-classic look that’s expected to draw plenty of attention. It sits on 19-inch alloy wheels, features a 205 mm ground clearance, a customizable tail section, and an overall bold off-road design.

In terms of size, the SUV measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width, and 1,845 mm in height, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase. It offers an impressive 42° approach angle and 40° departure angle, giving it strong off-road credentials.

Powering the V23 is a 59.93 kWh LFP battery pack that delivers a claimed driving range of 401 km. The rear-wheel-drive motor produces 100 kW peak power, and drivers can choose between five driving modes, including a dedicated off-road mode.

Inside, the V23 comes with electrically adjustable front seats, a 7-speaker audio system, and a bold square-themed cabin design. The centerpiece is a large 15.4-inch central screen, paired with a partitioned instrument cluster display.

On the safety and tech front, the V23 integrates ADAS features powered by Horizon Robotics’ J3 chip. It includes an 8MP front camera, 3MP rear camera, millimeter-wave radar, 12 ultrasonic radars, and advanced driver-assist functions such as high-speed navigation, emergency lane keeping, traffic jam assist, automatic parking, remote parking, and memory parking.

The SUV’s boxy exterior emphasizes its off-road DNA, featuring a smoked front grille, round headlamps, roof luggage rack, and hidden door handles.

While SPG Automobiles has not officially confirmed the price, sources suggest that the iCar V23 will be priced below NPR 50 lakhs, making it a strong contender in the compact electric SUV segment of Nepal.

The official launch is set for tomorrow, where Chery will unveil the V23 to the Nepali market.
