BMW iX2 EV SUV Launches in Nepal: Offers 449km Range on a Single Charge

BMW’s official distributor in Nepal, Laxmi Premium Motors, has officially launched the new BMW iX2 electric SUV in the Nepali market today. This marks the third addition to BMW’s iX electric lineup in the country, following the iX1 and iX3 models.

The BMW iX2 is a luxury electric SUV with a maximum range of 449 kilometers on a single charge. Built in a sleek coupe design, the iX2 is equipped with a 150 kW front-wheel-drive motor based on BMW’s latest eDrive20 system. It features a 66.5 kWh battery pack, which can be charged using an 11 kW AC charger or a 130 kW DC fast charger, allowing for rapid and flexible charging solutions.

The interior of the iX2 offers a premium driving experience, highlighted by a dual curved display, a head-up display, and a Harman Kardon sound system with 12 speakers. Additional luxury features include a panoramic glass roof, power-adjustable front seats with heating and memory functions, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents.

On the safety front, the iX2 is equipped with seven airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, an integrated braking system, auto-hold function, Drive-Off Assist, Dynamic Brake Control, and High Beam Assist. These advanced features are designed to enhance both driver and passenger safety.

Visually, the iX2 rides on 19-inch double-spoke alloy wheels. Instead of a spare tire, the vehicle comes with a tire repair kit. Dimension-wise, the compact SUV measures 4,554 mm in length, 1,845 mm in width, and 1,560 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,692 mm.

Although the official retail price has not yet been announced, estimates suggest it will be priced around NPR 1.8 crore. With its impressive range, cutting-edge features, and stylish design, the BMW iX2 is expected to attract a growing segment of eco-conscious luxury car buyers in Nepal.
