A More Affordable Deepal Electric SUV Coming to Nepal

Deepal, the EV brand under Changan Group, has been making waves in Nepal with back-to-back SUV launches. The company first introduced the Deepal S07, followed by the Deepal S05, both of which gained strong attention from Nepali buyers.

Within a short time of its arrival, the Deepal S05 has already won over many, thanks to its luxury features, modern cabin, and stylish looks. First showcased at the NADA Auto Show 2025, the S05 is produced in Thailand and brought to Nepal, with prices starting at NPR 48.99 lakhs.

Now, Deepal is preparing to introduce an even more affordable SUV to the Nepali market. Launched in China as the NEVO Q05, this compact electric SUV will be rebadged under the Deepal name for Nepal. The exact name for the Nepali market has not yet been confirmed.

According to the official distributor MAW Vriddhi, the new Deepal SUV is expected to arrive in Nepal by the first quarter of 2026, with local testing set to begin within the next six months.

To keep pricing competitive, the SUV will be offered in two battery options: a 40.3 kWh pack and a 51.9 kWh pack, delivering a real-world range of around 350 km. On the CLTC cycle, these are rated at 405 km and 506 km, respectively.

In international markets, the Q05 comes with a 120 kW motor, but for Nepal, it will likely feature a motor producing less than 100 kW peak power, mainly due to local tax regulations.

In terms of size, the Q05 measures 4435 mm in length, 1855 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, with a 2735 mm wheelbase. Built on Changan’s Digital Wing 2.0 design language, the SUV stands out with sleek LED headlights, a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, and a single-piece tailgate design. It will also come loaded with several modern features to appeal to tech-savvy Nepali buyers.
