MG Nepal Teases Upcoming S5 EV on Social Media

Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG vehicles in Nepal, is preparing to launch the MG S5 EV, a compact electric SUV, by the end of February 2025. Bookings are expected to open in the second week of February, with the vehicle anticipated to be priced between NPR 50 to 60 lakhs. The MG S5 EV will compete with upcoming models like the Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, and Proton eMas 7 EV, all targeting a similar market segment.

  • Dimensions: 4,476 mm (L) x 1,849 mm (W) x 1,621 mm (H); wheelbase of 2,730 mm.
  • Ground Clearance: 182 mm.
  • Battery Options:
    • 49 kWh: CLTC-claimed range of 425 km; charges fully in approximately 8 hours using a 7.2 kW AC charger.
    • 62 kWh: CLTC-claimed range of 520 km; charges fully in around 10 hours with the same charger.
  • Performance: 125 kW Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor delivering 170 PS and 250 Nm of torque; accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds; top speed of 170 km/h.
  • Design and Features: Sleek closed-face front design with slender LED DRLs above LED projector headlamps; 18-inch multi-spoke wheels; Y-shaped full-width LED taillights; minimalist interior with a 15.6-inch floating touchscreen and a 10.25-inch LCD instrument cluster; three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel; column-mounted gear shifter; wireless charging pad.

Notably, the MG S5 EV is positioned as the successor to the MG ZS EV and features the world’s thinnest battery at just 110 mm.
