GO Automobiles takes over India-made MG distribution in Nepal, opening with prices that beat the previous dealer

A change in dealership has brought good news for budget EV buyers in Nepal. GO Automobiles, the newly appointed authorised distributor for India-manufactured MG vehicles in Nepal, has launched operations with a sharper opening price on the MG Comet EV undercutting what the previous dealer was charging.

New Prices at a Glance

GO Automobiles has priced the MG Comet EV from NPR 18,75,000 a reduction of NPR 1,24,000 compared to the NPR 19,99,000 price tag that former dealer Paramount Motors had been selling it at.

The MG Windsor EV has been priced from NPR 39,75,000 under the new dealership. For context, Paramount Motors previously offered the Windsor in two trims the Excite variant at NPR 37,99,000 and the Exclusive variant at NPR 39,99,000.

It is worth noting that both introductory prices are valid for a limited period only, the company has stated.

GO Automobiles has set up its new showroom at Thapathali, Kathmandu.

Two Dealers, Two Sources

The restructuring of MG’s distribution in Nepal is notable. Until now, Paramount Motors handled all MG brand vehicles in the country under a single dealership. Going forward, the market will be split: GO Automobiles will handle India-manufactured MG vehicles (such as the Comet and Windsor), while Paramount Motors will continue selling China-manufactured MG models including the recently launched MG S6.

A New Chapter for MG in Nepal

GO Automobiles describes this launch as the beginning of a new era for the MG brand in Nepal, with ambitions centered around innovation, sustainability, and modern design.

Dealer Principal Aakash Golchha expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership with JSW MG Motor India. “We are extremely excited to partner with JSW MG Motor India. Bringing world-class MG vehicles to Nepali customers is a significant opportunity for us,” he said. “This dealership has been built with a focus on modern infrastructure and exceptional customer service. We are confident that MG’s portfolio combining technology, design, and sustainability aligns well with the aspirations of Nepali customers. Our goal is to build a strong and long-term presence for the MG brand in the Nepali market.”

With competitive entry pricing, a prime Kathmandu showroom, and a clear split in distribution responsibilities, the arrival of GO Automobiles is set to shake up how MG does business in Nepal and potentially how aggressively the brand competes in the country’s rapidly expanding EV segment.
