IM Motors makes debut in Nepal with the futuristic IM L6: Rolls-Royce to Porsche-inspired EV priced at Rs. 74.99 lakh

MG’s premium sub-brand IM Motors has officially entered the Nepali market. Paramount Motors, the authorized distributor of MG in Nepal, unveiled the IM L6 electric crossover at an exclusive event on Thursday.

MG, a well-known name in Nepal’s EV space for the past six years, is now introducing its futuristic and tech-loaded sub-brand IM. Sales of the IM L6 will officially begin at the NAIMA Mobility Expo 2025, kicking off on Shrawan 21 (August 6).

The IM L6 is priced at Rs. 74.99 lakh, and bookings are now open.

This EV is already making waves globally with impressive reviews, thanks in part to its standout feature — a flip-down widescreen TV embedded in the center console. The IM L6 is a direct rival to the Tesla Model Y in terms of segment and ambition.

What does “IM” stand for?

IM stands for “Intelligence in Motion”, a philosophy that reflects the brand’s focus on blending smart technology with dynamic design. The vehicle comes equipped with air suspension, offering a smooth and luxurious ride.

Feature-packed, inspired by luxury giants

The IM L6 borrows cues from some of the most iconic car brands:

  • Flip-down TV like in the BMW i7
  • Key design inspired by Porsche
  • Wing mirrors reminiscent of Tesla
  • Button-style door handles like the Fiat 500
  • Soft-touch carpets similar to Rolls-Royce
  • Blind-spot camera system found in Hyundai
  • Autonomous reversing tech similar to BMW’s high-end models

From the rear, it features an Aston Martin-style ducktail spoiler with a seamless light bar, while the front design clearly reflects Tesla’s influence.

800V architecture, ultra-fast charging

Built on cutting-edge 800V electrical architecture, the IM L6 supports ultra-fast charging — it can go from 10% to 80% in just 17 minutes, which is on par with the Hyundai Ioniq 5, but the IM L6 comes at a more competitive price.

Smart interior with first-in-segment massage seats

Inside, passengers are treated to heated, ventilated, and massage seats, making it the first MG vehicle to offer massage functions. The dashboard houses a massive 26-inch display, split into an infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.

Top-tier smart tech: ADi system and self-parking

The IM L6 is equipped with ADi – an advanced intelligent driving system. According to the company, this system offers 6.7 times greater safety compared to human drivers. The car’s autonomous parking assistant uses 300 parking sensors, making it one of the smartest systems in the industry.

Immersive audio and EV performance

A 20-speaker premium audio system ensures a surround sound, theater-like experience, aimed especially at young tech enthusiasts.

Under the hood, the model available in Nepal comes with a 109 kW electric motor producing 450 Nm of peak torque. Paired with a 75 kWh ternary battery, it offers an impressive range of around 500 km on a single charge.

Built on a “Lizard Digital Chassis”

The IM L6 is based on the company’s proprietary Lizard Digital Chassis, and features a high-precision LiDAR system, NVIDIA Drive Orin chip, and Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P smart cockpit platform — all combining to create a truly intelligent crossover experience.

With a price tag under Rs. 75 lakh and features drawn from some of the world’s most luxurious and advanced cars, the IM L6 is poised to redefine Nepal’s premium EV segment.
