BYD Dolphin 2025 Launched in Nepal with New LFP 12V Battery, Same Price of Rs. 41.15 Lakhs

BYD Auto Industry Co. Ltd., in collaboration with its official Nepal distributor Cimex Inc. Pvt. Ltd., has unveiled the highly anticipated BYD Dolphin 2025 electric hatchback. The upgraded version brings advanced features and industry-first innovations while retaining the same price tag of Rs. 41.15 lakhs, making it one of the best-value EVs available in the market.

The biggest highlight of the 2025 BYD Dolphin is its new Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) low-voltage battery (LVB), replacing the traditional lead-acid 12V battery. This new LFP battery is six times lighter, has five times lower self-discharge, and delivers a 15-year lifespan, making it a global benchmark for low-voltage energy storage and reliability. It also comes with an 8-year or 150,000 km warranty.

Built on the advanced BYD e-Platform 3.0 and powered by the Blade Battery technology, the new Dolphin delivers a WLTP range of 340 km and can charge from 0–80% in just 30 minutes using DC charging. Its suspension has been fine-tuned for sporty handling across Nepal’s varied terrains.

Additional new features introduced in the 2025 version include:

  • Brighter LED headlights for enhanced night visibility
  • Improved air conditioning with better cooling and heating
  • New connectivity options, including mobile phone NFC and Bluetooth keys
  • Passenger door switch for added convenience
  • New Atlantis Grey color option, alongside existing Urban Grey and Ski White

Although packed with these significant improvements, the price remains the same at Rs. 41,15,000, including a 7kW home charger.

Since its launch in Nepal less than two years ago, the BYD Dolphin has become the best-selling electric hatchback in the country, with 2,490 units delivered to date. Globally, the model has crossed 830,000 deliveries, highlighting its strong reputation and customer trust.

Yamuna Shrestha, Managing Director of Cimex Inc., expressed gratitude towards customers, colleagues, and stakeholders. She stated, “We are committed to sustainable mobility and customer-centric innovation. The BYD Dolphin 2025 is more than just a feature upgrade — it is a continuation of our journey towards a greener future in Nepal.”

Sahil Shrestha, CEO of Cimex Inc., added, “BYD Dolphin is more than a car; it’s a symbol of the electric lifestyle. With every new version, we strive to deliver a better experience — from promoting clean energy to providing seamless after-sales support for our customers across the country.”

The BYD Dolphin 2025 is available for test drives and bookings across BYD showrooms and dealer networks throughout Nepal.
