Cimex Inc., the official distributor of BYD electric vehicles (EVs) in Nepal, has announced an extension to the warranty period for all new BYD EVs sold in the country. The company’s new “Comprehensive Extended Warranty” policy significantly increases the coverage for key components.
According to Cimex Inc., the warranty for the battery, motor, whole vehicle, and various parts of BYD EVs has been enhanced.
The battery warranty has been extended by an additional two years. Previously, BYD EVs in Nepal came with an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty on the battery. This has now been increased to an impressive 10 years or 200,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
Similarly, the warranty on the motor has also been increased by two years. Customers previously received an 8-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty on the motor, which now stands at 10 years or 200,000 kilometers.
The whole vehicle warranty has also seen an upgrade. Components such as lights, tire pressure monitoring modules, suspension, and ball joints, which previously had a 4-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty, will now be covered for 5 years or 125,000 kilometers.
For general vehicle parts, excluding consumables, oils, charging equipment, gifts, and refrigerators, the warranty has been extended from 6 years or 150,000 kilometers to 7.5 years or 187,500 kilometers.
Cimex Inc. stated that this extended warranty policy reflects BYD’s strong confidence in the durability, performance, and reliability of its EVs.
Sahil Shrestha, CEO of Cimex Inc., emphasized that the warranty extension demonstrates the company’s commitment to providing excellent service to its customers.
“This extended warranty underscores our strong belief in BYD’s cutting-edge electric vehicle technology and our commitment to providing exceptional service to our customers,” he said. “As the transition towards electric mobility accelerates, we believe this initiative will play a crucial role in building long-term trust and loyalty among our customers.”
BYD currently provides services to its customers through more than 13 state-of-the-art service centers and over 30 charging network locations across Nepal.
