Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has started accepting bookings for its electric scooters, the Activa e: and QC1. This move is part of the company’s entry into the electric two wheeler vehicle market in India.
Honda Activa e:

The Activa e: is equipped with two 1.5 kWh swappable batteries, providing a range of 102 km on a full charge. These batteries can only be charged at designated Honda battery swapping stations, which are already operational in Bengaluru and Delhi, with plans to expand further. The scooter features a 7-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and incoming call and SMS alerts. It also comes with a 3-year/50,000 km warranty, with 3 free services and roadside assistance for the first year. The Activa e: is powered by a 6kW in-board motor, allowing it to reach speeds up to 80km/h. Riders can choose from 3 riding modes: Eco, Standard, and Sport.
Honda QC1
The QC1 on the other hand is the more affordable option of the two. It features a 1.5 kWh fixed battery, providing a range of 80km per charge. Charging time is approximately 4.5 hours from 0-80%, with a full charge taking 6.5 hours. The QC1 uses a 1.8kW rear-wheel hub-mounted motor, which delivers 77Nm and allows the scooter to reach a top speed of 50km/h. The scooter also features a 5-inch LCD display, a USB Type-C outlet, and 26 litres of underseat storage.
